The Challenge

Challenge yourself today to make a better you tomorrow.

Many of us had dreams of how our lives would be when we were growing up. For some of us, those dreams got pushed to the side when life happened. We got distracted when our jobs demanded too much from us, or when we had children, or when we became ill, or when we made big mistakes, or when we got married, or when we got divorced, for that matter. But let’s not let that stop us from accomplishing our goals.

You’ve always wanted to read The Bible, cover to cover? Set aside 10 minutes a day to do it.

Never got the chance to learn a second language? Sign up for a class at your local community college.

Always wanted to learn how to play an instrument? Take some lessons.

Commit to taking a walk three times a week. Learn to make pottery. Compliment a stranger. Design your own jewelry. Volunteer at a nursing home. Take an art class. Sing in the church choir. Pick a new word to learn everyday. Pray 10 minutes a day. Learn CPR. Write a poem. Donate to a charity you believe in. Cover the tab for the person standing in line behind you at Starbucks. Think before you speak. Make someone smile.

Wake up in the morning and say to yourself, “I’m gonna be better today.” No need for giant leaps; just keep putting one foot forward, and inch by inch, you will get there.
